you're the one for me >>
but I do not know who and where you are........... < ">

You can call me Noi! This blog consists of my thoughts. I am just a simple person with BIG dreams! Like the charcoal, hot pressure and extreme heat must be present in order to create a Diamond. I am in the exact same process.

A tribute to all teachers

Angels

I hope I am not too late to wish all teachers Happy Teacher's Day! Technically it is only tomorrow so I am not late at all.

Of course the celebrations was on Friday, which was a long and exhausting day for me. It is mainly because being involved in the planning, its like you cant really enjoy it, you are too busy making sure everything is going smoothly. Still, it was great although I thought it was soo much more better last year. Yes, the food did not win me at all! Haha..so much complaints! Haha.

Nevertheless, being involved in running around meant that I had to cancel all my classes. That means that I did not get to see any of my students! Some of them already gave me an early Teachers' Day gift so that was really smart of them. The most heartening gift was a card from Parveer, with all the wrong spellings! It says this:

Happy teathers day! Tank you, Miss Avfrafi.

Hmmmmmmmm, until now, mastering how to spell my name remain challenging for them. Haha! The cutest was Immanuel, my P1 student. I was at the back of the hall, waiting to give the cue to the representatives giving the cards and flowers. Suddenly there was this boy, from the front of the hall, got up, ran all the way to the back and finally to in front of me, and handed me this box nicely wrapped up. When I finally got to open it after the concert, this (picture above) was inside.

Sweet, and touched considering I only see this boy one period a week. Imm must be so stressed that he is not coping well at all. Last week, when I picked him up in his class, upon seeing me at the door, ran up to me and held my hands.

Right! He held my hand and we walk all the way up to my class! I have never seen any teacher hold hands with any student in the school! Of course I couldnt let go.

After the lunch was over, I cleaned and packed my bags, I had a lot of things to carry, and I finally decided to leave the biz kit in school before meeting Naf for game plan. At An-Nadhah, apparently there was a teacher's day gathering for the teachers teaching there and guess what?! I actually gatecrash it to meet my Ustazah from madrasah! Its been so many years and I lost her contact number resulting in me not being able to visit her for Hari Raya. This year, it will happen! Yay!

I am so glad it happened that I gave her the 2 roses that I had in my bag, signifying my appreciation. She taught me in that school from P1 to Sec 4 and even though some years she was not my teacher, I really like what she taught because it is always based on the truth. Plus, she was really funny and even though she was fierce at times, she was humourous and that was why lessons were enjoyable.

Which reminds me of these teachers who impacted my life positively and never ever will I forget what an inspiration they were to me. There are not many, for I am not lucky enough to have such great teachers all the time, but the few who are, is enough blessing for me to be thankful of their presence. They are:

From primary school: Mrs Raja

From sec school: Ms Christine Chong

From weekend madrasah: Ustazah Nurhayah and Ustazah Saaodah

Now being in the teaching line myself, I really appreciate the nature of this job. Of course now it is more challenging but I am confident that every little thing that I teach and do, will remain as a value to the child.

Friday was also the last day I was seeing Darren, I do not know what to give him, except for a card with 2 pictures. One picture consist of him and me, and another one was a group picture with the other boys from P2. I only had my words to give as a gift but I hope that is sufficient enough. I wrote:

Dear Darren,

This is only the beginning of your pathway to success. Remember that when things get tough and you feel like giving up, there will always be one person that has always believed in you.

That person is me.

Thank you all teachers for making a signifcant difference!
