You can call me Noi! This blog consists of my thoughts. I am just a simple person with BIG dreams! Like the charcoal, hot pressure and extreme heat must be present in order to create a Diamond. I am in the exact same process.

Lessons From Amazing Race 9 / Saturday, May 20, 2006 @ 10:06 AM
The results for the Amazing Race 9 is finally here! I caught the replay for the last season 2 nights ago. Before that happens, I made sure I do not stumble onto any blogs that might have revealed the winners before I catch the show. I remember stumbling into someone's blog about American Idol before the actual telecast in this side of the world. Its a spoiler! So this time, thank goodness, I was unaware of the winner until I catch the show myself.

I was not able to follow
every episode of The Amazing Race this season, due to my hectic schedue. I was also confuse by the 2 channels that were telecasting the show on 2 different days. In the end, I got fed up and just watched the last few episodes. I was very excited towards the end of the race. For one thing, I know that BJ and Tyler aka The Hippies have been shunned by the rest of the teams. Its only natural you know, people dont like people who are different from them. Just because the dont shave, they wear shirts with prints, they have fun, people treat them differently from others. Its just not fair you know. People are so judgemental. We cant accept a someone who is different from the majority.

Honestly, I am not too fond of guys who do not shave the facial hair. Someone invented the razor for goodness sake, might as well use it. They just appear cleaner and neater that way. But watching BJ and Tyler go through the race, I realised that I have been just as judgemental as others. These guys are obviously smarter than they look. What strikes me the most was their positive attitude in any kind of situations, be it good or bad. Another quality that impressed me so much was that they didnt give up no matter what. They came in last twice if I am not wrong and therefore were striked of all money and clothes. Instead of feeling down about it, it somehow made them more determined than ever to finish the race as winners. Now, that is a quality of winners. They get back up faster than the fell.

Another thing that I like was that they had fun everywhere and anytime! It is important to enjoy what you are doing, take the time to smell the roses, have fun because it will be over in a while so just cherish the moments! I like that.

Watching tv may not be all bad after all, there are lessons here and there that we can learn. We just have to know how to pick up the right signals and turn it into our advantage. Overall I am happy that they won, as they deserve to win more than any other team in the race.
