I am back! Finally! / Tuesday, October 16, 2007 @ 3:38 PM
I am back! Finally! I have been itching to write in here for the past week, but alas, having no computer and no time is a constant barrier to me doing this. The good news is, I am on leave for the rest of the week! Yay! I think this is the first time I am having a long break during Hari Raya itself. Last year I was still rushing to finish assignments and papers during the eve of Hari Raya and it was really distracting. The previous year, we had to come back to work since majority of the staffs were malay and priority were always given to those who are married and with kids. Soooooo, I have never been allowed to enjoy a good Hari Raya break until this year, so yay for me! There has been so much happenings for the past week! Hmm where shall I start? Lets start with last Wednesday open meeting. After the open meeting, Eddie called all the leaders for a special nite owl. Actually I was suprised that he called me, to be placed together with the leaders is my honour. It was a very heartwarming nite owl, a special message to all the leaders. I certainly got the message and I am on my way of leading my team to our goal. But what touches me the most was what Eddie did towards the end of the session. He acknowledge and edified every single one of the leaders. Suprisingly, I was one of the first he edified. From then on, the term icon has been ringing in my ears. I was truly wowed and the more I shall get this done, and do the team proud. Of course, despite being exhausted, I was not able to sleep that night. Too much excitement! The next day I had Cherry at my school for attachmet. The boys are having their exams and tests and I was not able to take the P2s out for classes. Nevertheless, I was able to reshuffle my timetable and let Cherry see the P1s and Navin. I think Navin is special case, considering he is the most severe in the whole school. I think she did get an insight to my work, even though she was there a week before, you know being in a shool is different everyday. I am sure she went home a different person. It was really funny because here I am trying to learn as much from her and each time I went on about what I do, she would say: Thats really good, can I share this with the DAS team? I do not mind sharing of course but whatever template that I created, of course must be credited to me right? I do not want my hard work to be credit to someone elses! However I think Cherry, being nice, will never do that. It comes along with the integrity of the job, like us so I have no worries. At the end of the day, before she left, she gave me hug! That was so sweet and even though she was only there fore 2 days, I am sure it was a learning journey for her too. On Friday, I was allowed to go home at 10 am! Woohoo. I rushed home to do a last minute cleaning (its the same mad rush every year) and by night, I was sleepy. For me, Hari Raya celebrations for this year is extra special because: 1. I had 2 new pin breakers in the month of Ramadhan. 2. School / work is going great, I couldnt ask for more. 3. No rushing of assignments / projects. 4. No evil boss denying my annual leave. 5. Recognition of work by my P and my fellow SNOs. 6. SNO headquarters is at its peak, great communication and sharing of resources by everyone. And even though the same people will be asking me the same old question this Hari Raya, I am determined to not let it spoil my day. I would also like to thank all those who sms and email me their cards and wishes. There is just so many of you and I just finished replying to all emails today. Thank you and hope it was not too late. |
