I am a big fan of superhero type cartoons since young. I do not read comics of anything like that but I remember waking up early on Saturday mornings just to watch the X Men cartoon on tv. I also remember pretending I had powers and telekinesis was always my favourite.
Anyway I do believe that everyone is blessed with a power, its whether one discovers it or not. Sometimes it maybe difficult to see one's own power without any belief in oneself. Still, I am sure you have met people with extraordinary talents. For instance, I know of this boy who has photographic memory and another boy who can draw anything, or someone who could play different types of musical instruments. I definitely cannot do any of this!
So what if I tell you that I can read minds? Will you believe me? Or will you think I am kidding? Haha! It is weird sometimes but I think the reason why I know is because I am tuned in. Sometimes in the midst of a busy schedule people just shut their tuning system off and that is why they miss out on others thoughts and feelings. Especially being around teachers, they are so busy running around and sometimes they do not realise that they are being inconsiderate or rude. It never hurt to listen more to what others are saying, how they are saying it.
BUT that is the education system in Singapore. I was sitting in contact time yesterday where they were talking about the Performance Bonus next week. It was the most depressing contact time ok. I actually left a few minutes before it was over to get my notebook fixed. I thought while it was great to reward the teachers on performance, it was stressful to meet certain targets. I am glad I am not a conventional teacher.
The thing is, I know for a fact that they are trying to do something similar like the teachers for the SNOs and while it is great news, one must also accept that what comes with it is extra time and extra responsibility. And all that means MORE WORK. So to those who keep complaining about not having any roadmap for SNOs, be careful what you wish for.
It is a long weekend (only 3 days but still) and I am swarmped with work. If I do not get started on the presentation by this weekend, I know next week I will be losing sleep. I cannot lose sleep. I am sleeping beauty. Hah.
