You can call me Noi! This blog consists of my thoughts. I am just a simple person with BIG dreams! Like the charcoal, hot pressure and extreme heat must be present in order to create a Diamond. I am in the exact same process.

The Incredibles

Incredibles

I was inspired to watch the movie 'The Incredibles' after listening to last month's Incredibles by Kankan and Samina. I watched the show before but after listening to Kankan, I wanted to watch the movie again just so that I can get the rightful lesson from this movie. So I get to watch this today on vcd. It was really weird because I saw this only as a movie back then but now watching it again, there seemed to be so much more lessons to learn from it.

So there was this part where the mom was unhappy with Mr Incredible for not showing up at their son's graduation from P2 to P3 (something like that). Mr Incredible did not see the need to attend because it was not a real graduation and then he said this:

"They keep finding new ways to celebrate mediocrity!"

This was a really powerful statement and come to think of it, it IS true. Another scene that was equally powerful was when the mother was having a conversation with Dash, the son. It went something like this:

Dash: But Mom, why can't I particpate in the race like the other kids. I promise I will slow down.

Mom: Sorry honey, you just can't.

Dash: But why not, Dad always said we are unique, we are different!

Mom: Yes but the world just wants us to fit it, so we just have to be normal like everyone else.

How many times have we told our kids to be normal like everyone else?

The fact remains that the majority of people who wants a normal life are not wrong. To them it is right to live only on weekends and leave the weekdays to do job. However, the true heroes, or I can say, the Incredibles, know that deep within their heart, they are not meant to do this routine and remain average. They know that they are meant for bigger things in life than just go to work and sit at the office cubicle from 8 am to 5 pm. They know, and they are waiting for the opportunity to emerge and win.

I know that some of you reading this are just like the Incredibles. Not everyone will understand why you want what you want. Just because they do not understand it, does not mean you are wrong. Like what Ian said at PASE meeting last Friday night, people tell people what they cannot do, because they have not tried it out themselves.

Just like the Incredibles too, you can hide who you are on the outside, but on the inside you cannot lie to yourself who you really are.

Be the person that wins. Be incredible.

Have a fruitful and awesome week!
