The thousandth man
I am beginning to think that the creator or blogthings is my stalker. (Refrain all your stalker jokes to me for some of you dying to tell it :p) How else can you explain how accurate I thought these tests are? Haha. I am cold. In fact I am known to be ice queen, but once you know me well enough, I am all warm hearted. Right? Haha. I am so blessed and happy these few days to see Tommy almost everyday. He will wait for me when I go to work in the morning and wait for me when I get home at night from meeting. He is so handsome and does not talk much, just like the strong silent type. He listens to my instructions and love me for who I am. On Friday, after making him wave goodbye to Fifi and Nurul, I have him a big hug! I think he became so scared of me, he started to walk away! Haha. But the next morning, he came to me as usual like things had never gone better. Love him soooo much. If you have not figured it out by now, Tommy is a cat. Today I saw Tommy had a few cut on his leg and I feel so angry at whoever is responsible for that! I can never treat a sick cat because I will not be able to keep my emotions intact when dealing with animals. Thats why I can never be a vet or even work in the zoo. I do hope to volunteer my service at the zoo one day. Animals all day! I like! I just ended an exciting phone meeting and I am very happy to say that despite the fasting month, we are growing even bigger, better because the doors of 'hikmah' and 'rezeki' is hugely opened specially for the month of Ramadhan. Nurul forwarded me this poem called 'Thousandth Man'. I first heard it from a cd by Angelo Nardone, it was emotional. It was even more emotional when Saifudin recited it at PASE and I think that was the start of everybody's tear flowing. Do not just read it. Understand it, feel it. For us, it has a deeper meaning to it, thats why we get so emotional reading this poem. The Thousandth Man One man in a thousand, Solomon says, will stick more close than a brother. And it's worth while seeking him half your days, If you find him before the other. Nine hundred and ninety-nine depend on what the world sees in you, But the Thousandth Man will stand your friend with the whole round world agin you. 'Tis neither promise nor prayer nor show, Will settle the finding for 'ee. Nine hundred and ninety-nine of 'em go by your looks, or your acts, or your glory. But if he finds you and you find him, The rest of the world don't matter; For the Thousandth Man will sink or swim, With you in any water. You can use his purse with no more talk than he uses yours for his spendings And laugh and meet in your daily walk as though there had been no lendings. Nine hundred and ninety-nine of 'em call for silver and gold in their dealings; But the Thousandth Man he's worth 'em all, because you can show him your feelings. His wrong's your wrong, and his right's your right, In season or out of season. Stand up and back it in all men's sight-- With that for your only reason! Nine hundred and ninety-nine can't bide the shame or mocking or laughter, But the Thousandth Man will stand by your side to the gallows-foot--and after! Rudyard Kipling I am still looking for my thousandth man. I am sure I will find him/her. |
