Long term happiness / Thursday, March 26, 2009 @ 9:23 PM
Long term happiness Yesterday was a really long day for me. Still, I am proud that I was able to 'tahan' being the mc for the whole day. My co - mc was so tensed and serious and I think I am the complete opposite of him. Not just in term of presenting styles, but everything. For instance, I had the opportunity to work with him and he is a really dedicated and passionate worker but at times, too nice to say the truth. Me, on the other hand, will say what needs to be heard, whether you like it or not. For 1 simple reason, the people we work with at times are simply oblivious to human emotions and social cues. Haha. Thats why I guess we make such a great team. It was so great to see the rest of the AED (LBS)--long acronym I know haha. But it was also too short to catch up on anything. I thought the whole session was pretty useful and was left to be quite free in the afternoon session. Thus, I ended talking and hanging out with some of the APs, the guy APs to be precise. I have always thought that they are such collected and profound people but yesterday I had the time (a few hours actually) simply talking informally to them and I realised how human they all are. Take away the tittle, what they do, they are normal people and they do feel tired from the endless work demands. At the end of it, I do feel a little sorry for what they had to go through but at the same time, I am also full of respect because of the passion that they displayed doing this job. Also, one of them was really cracking me up because he was so 'ladylike'. Wahaha. I really enjoyed all the talking though. After that rushed over to Maulana to do Asar before heading off to function. I was a little sad for our guests who appeared in jeans thus, they were not allowed to go into the function hall. I think we must be extra specific to younger people because their definition of formal attire and our definition can be really different. No matter what, I still thought that bestie had done an awesome overview and its only a matter of time, she will built depth for her organisation, sooner than one might think. Too exhausted to catch the public transport so we hailed cab and went home like 'tai tais'. Upon reaching home, I had to do nitty gritty stuffs like ironing clothese for next day, packed breakfast and lunch for the next day. I realise when I am too tired, I cannot be bothered to pack my food. So here was today's menu.. ![]() Sandwich from 7-11 from night before, fried guotiao (Mom's solution whenever she has no idea what to let me bring) and some fruits quickly dumped in the tupperware. Even with this, I was hungry fast perhaps due to all the walking that I had to do today. Last night's function was impactful because we were trained by one of the leaders I respect the most. He shared wisdom with us and this message is permanently printed in my mind. Youngest, sharpest, most excited, biggest growing team in BWW Gala Sinagpore is mine InsyaAllah. |
