Pull my hair. / Tuesday, March 31, 2009 @ 6:32 PM
Pull my hair Today was supposed to be the short day of the week with no afternoon classes. However, I always got myself into a meeting that was unavoidable, reminding me of the neverending things to do on my list. In a effort to help the students who are weak in literacy, the bosses have decided to hire external help, mainly teachers / parents who are OG trained to help do intervention for the kids. Logically and technically, it should have been me who do all this intervention, but my timetable is so jam packed, that I really have trouble slotting anyone new. There has been a wave of newly diagnosed and even though I want to help EVERYONE, I am only 1 person. These people will be paid $35 per hour but there is maximum of 15 hours of work per week. I thought, wow, thats really a lot of money and calculating the amount of money that this person is getting paid to do, it is even higher than my pay. Imagine working for 15 hours a week, will earn this person more money than me who work about 30+ hours per week. Oh the luxury. Oh well, at least now I know my market rate, in the case that I decide to leave this profession, I know how much to charge! Muahaha. ![]() Today's meals: Brekafast: Toasted break with kaya (and margarine I think) Lunch: Brocolli with mushroom Dinner: Rice, fish with long beans cooked my favourite way Today I was almost pulling my hair out of my head teaching Doubling Rule to my P4s. They do not seem to get it even after repeating myself soooooo many times. SP was also almost pulling her hair out thanks to her most favourite student. Hmmm, maybe we should pull each other's hair to relieve the stress! K told me today that he got into a fight with a girl just because that girl call him 'gay'. I explained to him that he should never ever hit a girl and told him what to do the next time this happens. I told him to thank the girl.
