Dream Night 2007 / Tuesday, March 13, 2007 @ 9:56 AM
Dream Night 2007 Finally I can write in peace. The last 2 weeks were crawling with challenges coming from all aspects of my life but thank God, He gave me the strength to overcome it all. Newsflash. My laptop is almost useless. Apparently there is something wrong with the laptop after all and not the router or the card. So basically I just spend almost $200 for nothing. My options are: 1. Get a new laptop that does not suck. 2. Get my current laptop reformatted. To do that, I have to go on a treasure hunt quest of finding the windows explorer cd that apparently is not easy to find since the model of my laptop is no longer on the market. 3. Continue using my brothers computer but only within the time allowed since he is the modern version of sleeping beauty and needs to have his beauty sleep, not even a minute later. The other condition that I have to abide is that I can still continue doing my work with the computer but I have to do it all with the lights switched off. That is a great idea, because I do not really need to see whether whatever I am printing is correctly aligned. The computer issue had caused me additional stress and I really lost it when some people do not understand the importance and urgency of me submitting the lesson plan before 12 am. Anyway. I am here to talk about the Dream Night that happened a week ago. It was so phenomenal and I am so glad that most of my team was there to witness this event. The first speaker was none other than Dr Wong and whenever he speaks, I feel like I am listening to the parliament. He mentions about change. Change may look scary at first but what people do not understand is that it takes time to happen. It also takes courage to do it. In fact, if anyone can surpass the period of adjustment, he/she will be safe. Sadly, 94% of the population has no dream and purpose. Are you one of them? What have you to live for? It is time to dream again. Let your mind free to let go. Be reborn. Your inside growth is more important that your external growth. Anurag was exciting! The young diamonds are usually more excited. They are living proof that we do not have to be old and wrinkled to be free. No matter what, all problems in the world can be traced back to either lack of time or money. Coming together is beginning. Working together is progress. Staying together is success. Unity is achieved only when we work together in harmony. I hope you get this message as clear as I did. We work as a team. I am here as a team player so we must potray that united image that we already have. Now is the time to grow the numbers. I will always be here. We are here to help pull each other up. No one can succeed alone. It is a team effort. When you are patient enough and when the time is right, God will put that 6 people right in front of you. The second day was better since I was not rushing from class. Sometimes I wonder how I went on with no rest but I guess it was that intrinsic motivation that got me up early for the function. Johnson Huang, from China says that with every problem and adversity, is a seed of equal or greater benefit. I felt like that message was just for me. Never mind that he was speaking in mandarin the translating was a bit draggy but that message came out loud and clear. Winners do not find excuses. Winners deal with things and move on. Jimmy from Indonesia mentions our sales are half of sales in Indonesia? He was puzzled since the population in Indonesia is 250,000 and there are only 4 million of us in Singapore. Talk about the cili padi. Finally, I get to hear Mr Ramly Pungut speak live! Yay! He was speaking in malay and it was so fantastic to hear it live!! To me, he is the most phenomenal malay speaker! He says: Kenapa kita mudah putus asa bila kita dilanda cabaran kecil? Cari impian anda dan pegang impian itu sekuat kuatnya. Of course when he told is story, his voice cracked when he mentioned his wife. Here, before me, is a man who was so skeptical and negative and now he is one of the most successful man in Malaysia. Wow. It seemed too soon that his turn was over. I was slightly disappointed that he was not given more time since it was rare that we see a malay speaker. Hey maybe the next phenomenal malay speaker will be from my team? I have just the person perfect for this. Right Fir? Fir is one of the rare people whom I know who can speak a sentence of malay words with no insertion of any English words. It is really amazing. Vincent’s part, the last part of the Dream Night lingered in my mind throughout the next few days. He covered on distractions and he listed some of them. Apparently, I went through 8 out of the 9 distractions listed last year! It was all uncontrollable but my only choice was to control my mind and emotions. Control your mind and you will never be controlled by the minds of others. It is very important to stay strong can focus. My dream did not ever fade away, even when it seems like impossible to achieve it. It will be achieved. I just have to get through one last hurdle and I am there. I shall not be denied again because my dreams are worth too much for me to let it die. I hope yours are worth that much too. ![]() See more Motivation Posters at www.motivationposters.com/free |
