Hello everyone,
I know some of you have been worried about my missing in action here at Voicing My Thoughts but I would like to assure you that I am fine and well. Thank you for your concern. It has been a really rough 2 weeks and I am so glad that the end of the week is near and I can finally take a break from the madness.
The main reason why I am not able to write in here was because of the limited time that I can spend online. The only other time I get to use the computer will be the time I do lesson planning, worksheet, checklist etc. I do not think anyone understand the term intensely busy unless of course you are my fellow SNOs. Since TP started 2 weeks ago, most of us have not gotten enough sleep, rest, recognition of existence and most of us are rushing from place to place, trying to finish lesson plans on time. As if running around 3 different places was not enough, they had to slot in 2 tests, the OG procedure test and also the teaching 1 to 1. Personally, I thought it was rather unfair to have the first 1 hour full teaching lesson, graded. Come on, it is out first time and there are bound to be lots of mistakes. On that lesson day, I thought that my heart almost popped out from all the stress and anxiety. If I were on a reading scale level, lets just say that I am at frustration level.
Whoever in MOE who came up with this plan should shoot themselves for causing so many SNOs worried and stressed out. Even I find it so stressful that I lost my appetite to eat and dress presentably. And I am supposed to be the cool one who does not get nervous easily.
At the moment, my room resembles a messy classroom of 40 kids and flying papers. I have papers, files, cards pens everywhere so there is an urgent need to get organized. My time at home is spent doing lesson plans, sleeping, bathing and eating. I also have a list of things to do that seems to get longer everyday. If anyone is willing to help me get organize mainly in the areas of doing and laminating cards, filing and some sweeping, I really really really really really welcome it. I have nothing to offer you except my sincere gratitude that I shall be including in my national bestseller book. You will be famous you know.
Dream Night event that happened last weekend was a breath of fresh air for me. I shall write more about it, most likely after Saturday. I shall be teaching for 2 whole hours (for the first time) on Saturday so do pray that I stay sane and do not breakdown. Once was enough.
So many things happened this week and I cannot wait to tell you about it!
It is 3 am and I completed 3/4 of my lesson plan that I need to submit tomorrow at 10 am. I have not gotten more than 5 hours of sleep for these 2 weeks and I am now in a state of panic mode when I saw fine lines that appear on my forehead. I feel I aged so much these 2 weeks and I think stress is the main culprit.
So to future SNOs, be prepared because it is not a bed of roses. A friend of mine who just gave birth might be getting this job but I seriously think it will not be easy at all studying and taking care of a baby at the same time.
No matter what, I still think that how you deal with life is more important that what happen to you in life.
Therefore I shall keep this phrase embedded in mind:
There is always a choice about the way you do your work, even if there is not a choice about the work itself.
I shall be back, recharged and more positive than ever. For now, I am falling asleep in front of my laptop. Zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz.
