What can I say? Today was just not my day. However I shall not dwell on it or feel sorry for myself because that is the worst thing that anyone can ever do to themselves! Never ever feel sorry for yourself because that is when you lose your willpower to persevere in whatever rough times that you are going through.
So on the way to function I got myself 2 books:
1. Read to grow rich (Burke Hedges)
2. Failing Forward (John C. Maxwell)
They are from 2 of my favourite authors and I swear I almost bought all John C. Maxwell's books because he is that awesome. I cant wait to read them! 2 days ago too I bought a book on impulse and now I have 17 books at home to be read. Its like a long reading list and I know that there will never be a time I have nothing to read. I stop recording what I read because there is no more space in my planner. Woohoo.
Tonight's function was awesome. Nurul and me arrive early so we got to seat at the centre where I can see clearly! Yay! I didnt even fall asleep this time and that is a rare phenomena. Ram is a very logical person and he is so young, he does not even look like he has an 18 year old son! I hope when I am 40 I still look like I am 25! Haha.
He mentions that we need to have a control over money. If not, we will forever be a slave to money. I am sure you do not want to be a slave to money forever, can you sleep in peace at night with no worries? He also mentions taking the right vehicle. For example, a ferrari is a great car but it cannot take you to US. A lot of people might know where they are going but still they are not in the right vehicle to take them to their destination. Which is sad but its all part of 80/20 rule. Decide which side you want to be.
He gave this statistic which I found disturbing.
Lets say:
1 day = 8 hours of work
1 week = 40 hours of work
If you are 25 years old and if you work until you are 65, you would have work 80, 000 hours!
OMG! No way I am spending 80, 000 hours on a job.
So after the function ended, I was starving and so Nurul and me went to eat prata and nan at one of the coffee shops near Mustafa. It was 10.30 pm but the place was still packed with people! Dont these people sleep? It has been so long since we had a meal together so it was nice. And the weirdest thing happened when we got up the bus. The bus was so crowded as usual and as we went further to the back of the bus, Nurul found herself a seat and so I stood next to her since there were no more seats available. Then suddenly, this Indian guy who was sitting in front of Nurul got up and insisted that I take his seat. I gave a 'no thank you' sign but he still got up and gave up his seat for me anyway. I was wearing my long black dress which I am pretty sure made me look more slim than usual.
So, I hope he didnt think I was pregnant when he gave up his seat for me.
