Happy new year everyone! I dont really celebrate the beginning of a new year because for me, it is the time I review the happenings of my life and make the necessary changes that is required in the coming year. 2006 has been good but not great so I am determined to make 2007 beyond great!
2006 made me realize that no matter how different my friends and me think, we made the conscious effort to not be judgmental and too critical of each other. That is why after so long they are called friends even though some were just acquaintances initially. I always treasure your presence.
Yesterday I was at the family gathering and something unpleasant happened. I shall not go into details because I do not want to spread the news of negativity but I am glad that I am not part of it. I was a bit sadden by the lack of maturity that was being displayed by all parties, but nevertheless, I believed that keeping quiet was the best I could do at that point of time.
It is very sad when I see people who get into arguments or disagreements because of the different way that they think. The fact remains that everyone thinks differently and no matter how right you think you are, there will definitely be others who do not share your point of view. Therefore, sometimes before jumping right into making your point acrosst or making others see from your point of view, it is best to understand the other parties first. We always want others to understand us but are we doing anything to understand them? It is common to think only of oneself and that is why this world will never be a better place, as long as people think of only themselves and not others.
Think bigger. The world does revolve only around you.
So today I had a good start to the year with a SAM session especially for some of my closest friends. I think it is about time I give Samina a call and update her about what has been happening. I have some questions to ask anyway so I shall be doing that soon. I believe it is going a crazy year and let that crazy thing be some new pin achieving for me! Woohoo!
After I send the machine back to Margarets place, I was supposed to meet the gang at night and as usual the guys were late. It is so weird that the guys are always the ones late. I believe that girls take longer to get dressed, so this is unusual right? Thank goodness, I had the company of a cute friend and coffee and time just flies! Sometimes it is good to just sit and talk, hey maybe we are getting old! Haha. Dont worry too much honey, I think you are beautiful so if the world does not think so, then they need to take a harder look at you.
So I finally sat with the gang at 9.30 pm! At the rate that Mooch and me were complaining, Faz had no choice but to send us home. Somebody just bought a car anyway:p It is always nice to meet up and talk and not lose touch with each other. How many years has it been? Around 8 years! That is a long period of time tolerating each other! Haha!
I think the coffee is keeping me up but I am so freaking hungry! But its already 1.30 am in the morning so I guess I shall only dream of eating as there is absolutely nothing to eat at home. Lesson to all parents: Keep extra food at home. Your children will be hungry at night when you are asleep and you do not want to deprive them of that.
Today is my brothers 24th birthday! Happy birthday! Is he cute? Oh well, he thinks he is cute anyway. Haha!
