Finally here! / Sunday, November 25, 2007 @ 12:15 AM
Finally here! Hi friends! I know I have been missing in action here for quite some time, I hope you did not miss me too much! Haha! The truth is, there has been too many happenings these few weeks so I will TRY to summarise it all in this post! Be prepared for a long post. As you know, I was at Cheras during the weekend for FED. It was phenomenal. I dont even know how I can describe it to you so that you can truly understand and feel what I feel. I was so fired up that I had flu and fever on Monday and had to endured it the whole week! And I do not get sick that often! To keep myself from being too hyper and excited, I shall type the happenings all according to the dates. We arrived at IMM at about 9 am and the bus was supposed to leave at 10 am. We (Nurul and me) thought we were early but when we arrived, Elizabeth, Boon Xiong and Philip were already there! A few minutes later, our team started streaming in so by 9.30 the whole BK was filled with our team. We were told to eat first as there will be no stopping for lunch. I was prepared as I had my sandwich like always in my bag. And so we left exactly at 10 am. Coincidently, Naf, Nurul and myself were all in brown, thus the term Brownies. It wasnt even planned, I guess when we hang around each other so much we do become like each other and have the same telepathic powers as me. Haha! I think it was truly a blessing for me to be joining Chon and ImNeo team in the bus. The journey was smooth, no one was late, no one forgot their passport (it happens every year!) and everyone was in a very jovial mood. I actually had a migraine with me when I woke up and I knew that if I felt the migraine when I wake up in the morning, it will most likely stay with me throughout the day. I tried to sleep in the bus with the hope that it will go away but it didnt and trying to focus on the excitement of FED was the only thing that kept me going through the day. Halfway through the journey, I suddenly had the urge to pee, it must be all the water that I have been drinking when I swallowed a whole bunch of supplements. I think I must have hold my pee for about 45 minutes before rushing to the toilet when we stop for toilet break. At the toilet stopover, we saw the other buses, including Margaret's bus which left 2 hours before we did and they were so shock to find us there! Haha. Our bus is on the expressway to success man! Due to that, there was a little reunion at the toilet and yes I know it sounded weird but that was what happen. Haha. We were actually earlier than scheduled since we did not stop for lunch, they did. We arrived Hotel Maluri at about 2.30pm, we could have arrived earlier if the driver knew where the hotel was. When we arrived, guess what? Eddie and Margaret was at the lobby and trying to get everyone settled into their rooms. I was wondering why they were not at the session for DDs and then I realised that they were there to serve the team. They could never left the team in jeopardy while they go and attend the session, so I guess they missed it. It was a pity but that was how sacrificing they were. The team and myself are so proud to be associated with their team. This time, we had time to change, organised, it was not like the last FED where everybody was running around trying to find a place to change and searching for their room. It was calmer and everyone somehow knew where to go. We got ready and we left the our room after Asar to eat our late lunch cum dinner. The first shuttle bus was schedule to leave at 5.30 and guess what? We missed it! We arrived at 5.30 and there was no bus! It was good the Fir left first so at least he could reserve our seats. Haha. The good thing was we got to sit together as a team, and we occupied the centre front of the auditoirium. We were clearly the craziest and loudest team. Haha. I am sure the first timers there must have thought that they were in some kind of a disco or party because the whole environment looked like a big celebration where even people who cannot dance, will dance! Haha. The only difference is, everyone was in suits and formal business attire doing all these crazy moves that I swear you will NEVER find it out there. I was so inspired by EDC Apple Wang, she was so cute and she has the cutest dimples! Even though she spoke in Mandarin, her usage of words were so powerful and she spoke with so much passion. She did an age survey and made us stand up according to our age range, that was so powerful, oh my, when I grow up, I want to be just like her;) In fact throughout the whole 3 days, EDC Apple was the only one who made me teared. Oh, I hope it wasnt that obvious but when she mentioned about serving the team, and that she is at the FED to visit her future, that was so touching to me. Also about the part where we unite worldwide through our system and our brand. It was a vision that someone had that we are all now here today. She gave us another vision and that vision shall stay with me as long as I live. Just picture, China is one of the more challenging markets to do the business and this lady, is today and EDC, despite the restrictions and challenges in the China market. This is why it has been said that the greater the obstacles, the bigger the winners will emerged. I wanted to meet her and shake her hand and say how much she has inspired me, and I am sure so many others too wanted to do the same thing. However she was like a star, everyone wanted to go to her and she had people around her trying to keep her safe. Oh man, I guess I have to go to Diamond club to see her face to face right? So in the meantime, I guess I better learn more Mandarin so that at least I can converse with her. So here, we have someone who cannot speak English yet she was able to capture our attention and engage us through her speech. She did not even have any notes in her hands! I was so blown away. When we got back the first night, I still had the migraine but that did not stop us from going out to eat. Imagine eating at 12 am, and we were not the only ones. The team was there too. I decided that we had to do a game planning and goal setting on Fri night. Even though I had the migraine and I am sure everyone was tired, we had to still do it because we had night owl on Sat night so that might stretched to 1 am or even 2 am. It was good that we did that, there and then. My dear teamates, just know that I am looking at your goals everyday to see how I can help you achieve it. I hope you are looking at your goals everyday too. The second and third day was more electrifying! We were the first team at the door! Haha. I cannot even describe it successfully, it will not even be close. If you were not there, I am just sorry that you missed such a wonderful event. The best part of all is sharing the room with Naf and Nurul! It was great fighting over the toilet and the iron. I could not choose 2 people better than you guys to share the room with. It was an amazing experience and sorry Naf we could not do the late night borak borak as I was so exhausted by 2am that I immediately when into a deep slumber once I rested my head on the bed. The most amazing thing about the first day was, I realised that my migraine was gone about 1.30 - 2 am. Weird huh:p I shall continue about the other happenings in my next post! Do not see yourself as taking short cuts. See yourself in a long movie. EDC Apple Wang Xing He FED 2007. Cheras |
