Despite the madness of running around Singapore during the weekend, I was suprised that I was able to not panic too much when things do not go to plan. I used to be so neurotic when things dont go according to plan, but now I have learned to relax and just make the best of the situation.
I was also reflecting back on why I get angry. Its the bus. The bus makes me angry when I fail to catch it, when it arrives late, when it takes 30-45 minutes to arrive. I feel like I spend half my time waiting for the bus, running after buses, sleeping in buses since I moved to Ubi. Last week, while I was having courses at IMH, I took a solid 1 hour to reach there. I realised that when I was able to finish listening to 1 whole tape each morning that I take to go to IMH. I was listening to the awesome Kumar's tape and he was speaking about making your life simple. People often misunderstood simplicity. Simple is not middle income. Let me enlighten you on what is simple.
Think about these:
- Which is simpler? Driving a car to your destination or rushing after the bus, going into crowded buses?
- Which is simpler? Waking up from your sleep when you are fully rested or waking up when the alarm clock shocked you?
- Which is simpler? Spending 80% of your time at work or spending time with your loved one at hom?
So what is simplicity? Really?
I am still so tickled by all the things that Rashmir said on Saturday. If we were allowed to roll onto the floor laughing, I am sure Nurul would have because it was totally crazy! I could relate to him about being a breakfast person! I dont care what time I wake up but breakfast is must! I love the breakfast type food more than lunch and dinner so I really couldnt stand it when he mentioned about all the delicious food. Haha!
It was also hilarious about the way he described how some people built a life in their cubicles at work! Especially about adding the plant, the shower (??!!), haha..I can still laugh about it till today!
Saturday was the first day I stepped into Darul Ma'wa. It is just so unfortunate that the past few Saturdays have been fully booked by events and stuffs. This time I was able to drop there for the Self Esteem Workshop before rushing off to Jo and Dans we dding. The kids were adorable especially the younger ones, I was not able to not feel sad when they mentioned that they feel sad when their mum passed away. While walking to the library, I could not help but felt that the building is too old to live in it. The kids deserve better and cleaner living conditions.
I listed building a home for the orphanage as one of my emotional dreams when I started the business. Now this visit has further determined me in doing so.
The SNOs were awesome, in fact this was the first time we are doing the workshop and it was good that we get to practice on the kids before really bringing it in to my school next year. Well done girls! Congratulations Fidah for having the vision to do this.
This week will be an awesome week with the product fair coming up on Saturday. I shall be announcing it officially soon! Meanwhile I am also excited about the Sentosa trip on Thur! I have not been there for the past 20 years! Ok, I totally sound ancient when I said that. The best thing about this trip is its free! Yay, the school will be paying for it since its a holiday cum job thingy.
