As you can see, I was not able to find any time to blog from Tuesday to Friday. This week was madness week and let me celebrate that it is over and the school holidays are here! Yay!
Still, school holidays does not mean that I have nothing to do, or that I am free, let me make that clear. Basically I will be spending this June holidays being preparing resources for teaching for next semester. While planning for which days to take leave and all that, I realised that I will only have 6 full days to myself for the whole of June holidays! 6 days to prepare for everything! It is really a short time considering that I have no worksheets for next semester! This is of course minus from the days that I will on the Learning Journey, the planning week and the days with lessons. I was shocked that a parent thought that I was taking her son for classes for the whole of June holidays! Haha, they all seem so dissapointed when I say, "No class." This is a big contrast of reactions compared to when their teachers say that.
I still hope to take a short break, preferably before Summer Conference, just to recharge so that I can come back fresh. But looking at the packed schedule, I am really praying hard that it will happen this time!
This was clearly seen on Thursday. I was not able to sleep on Wednesday night after the open meeting. Imagine being exhausted and not able to sleep! So, I thought ok, lets use this time to do something productive, since I was wide awake. So I took this month's BOM, Positive Impact and started reading. It went on, went on, and I realised that I could not put the book down! The challenge was 57 minutes, I finished the book in less than 57 minutes! I was so excited and ecstatic when I completed this truly awesome book, and I still could not sleep, now more excited that before. I finally slept at about 3.30 am, after tossing and turning. I was going to start reading another book, but thought it was not such a good idea, just in case the book got exciting. Hah!
So 5.30 am. I am awake to go to school. Oh man, I will be zombied. So I was, plus I was in glasses the whole day. I was falling asleep in class when my P6 boys took such a long time to do their worksheet. I was so tired, and was looking forward to end my day but alas, it was the last day of school and there was Parent Teachers' Meeting from 2 pm to 4 pm. Joe, came in for my last lesson of the term, looking at me he asked:
Joe: Why are you wearing glasses today?
Me: Because I cant see.
Joe: Only today you cant see?
Such cuteness, I was too tired to explain, and just went on to nod my head. Hah.
This term, parent teacher's meeting was not so bad, I only met with 3 parents. I think Cat knew that every parents meeting I will be the mad woman who goes from class to class to recommend the parent's to go to DAS for assessment. This year, the numbers has greatly reduced and we split, and since she was doing P1 and P2, she has more parents to see than me. Some did not turned up so that greatly reduced the madness.
So this term too, I decided that I will not be in the hall, I will be in my class. This is because most of the students are from the classes near my own class so thats why I wanted to make it all easier for us.
By the time I reached home, it was almost 6 pm. Was too exhausted to even eat dinner and just fell asleep. It was not planned and even 5 minutes of not doing anything will leave me to be the sleeping beauty.
I remembered waking up for a while to do some calls and while waiting for people to call back, fell asleep again. I cannot remember being this sleepy.
So I slept at 10 pm, I apologize to all who called me after 10pm, I was already away in Lala Land.
On Friday, I had the best time with the P2 teachers for level bonding, it was all fun and games and I am so blessed to have decided to join this noisy, chaotic and cheerful level. For once, I saw a different side to the teachers, and yes there is always that one person who keep asking,"Am I team A or team B?" and annoyed everyone. After some time, everyone was confused too and kept answering for the opponents team. Haha.
Friday's PASE was more phenomenal than usual, I will write about it in my next entry. Meanwhile, I am sooo in love with this song. The quality of the video is not so good though.I have never been aware of the band's existence, until now. I finally can understand Ms Ulfah's logic in wanting to move to Indonesia. Haha.
