You can call me Noi! This blog consists of my thoughts. I am just a simple person with BIG dreams! Like the charcoal, hot pressure and extreme heat must be present in order to create a Diamond. I am in the exact same process.

Saturday is usually my favourite day because, it means I have 1 more non work day and it is my partially mental health day. I spent the mornings sleeping, because I do not get to sleep late on Sunday anymore due to CL classes at 11 am every Sunday. Therefore, Saturday mornings are almost sacred for me. Until today.

Was forced to wake up when someone from work called asking for one of her students' case file. Oh man I thought, so last minute and you are calling me at home?! While I think its great that my colleagues come to ask for information from us whenever they go for courses in special needs, SP and me has somehow transformed into 'information counters'. Do not get me wrong, its great, it means that they trust us and have faith that we know what we are specialise in. However, when you ask things last minute in the midst of all the madness, that is not cool man.

Let's see how this week has been.

Monday:
Packed cereal for breakfast and sandwich plus fruits for lunch. Eating breakfast is challenging simply because I am occupied from 7 am all the way to my break, which is at 11.00 am. Sometimes I eat while teach but most of the students know that I do not get to spend 'recess' eating since I teach both the upper and lower primary. So basically my timetable can go on and on, with no break.

Thats why its so important I eat, because when I do not, I get angry and moody so for the sake of all the kids, I must eat. Haha.

This week, I decided to go to CL classes in Tampines starting at 8.30 pm without bestie since she had something on. You know, despite spending 'quality time' waiting for the bus, I really enjoyed my class. Apparently, there are a lot of newcomers in the class so for me, that means I do not look stupid or clumsy. Haha.

Tuesday:
I knew I come home early on Tuesdays so I only brought fruits to work. (No pictures as its the leftover fruits from Monday)

Today I had to give workout a miss because of my driving lesson, scheduled smacked in the middle of the evening. It was ok because my test was the next day and this time, I die die must pass.

Wednesday:
I had chicken and brocolli for lunch. It was yummy but I have no pictures for you because Siti insisted that I eat with her in the staff lounge so I did not get to take any pictures of it.

My favourite- mid week Wednesday. Today was the day of the TEST. I MUST pass. I just forked out about $300 just this week all for driving fees and it sucks. For the sake of not wasting any more money, I MUST pass.

Waiting room, was the first one there. I was also the first one to be called out. Yay, I can give the agony of waiting a miss this time. Tester was good, he told me what I did wrong, so that I do not repeat the same mistake again. By 5 pm, got the result.

I passed!

Open meeting was awesome as usual but I was so starving due to having no time for dinner so Naf and myself decided to spend some quality time having supper at PS. She had temptation food, I did not touch it a bit but I must say that the frappe looked so delicious. Haha. We had no choice but to sit at this fast food. Its so difficult to choose good healthy food at a fast food outlet! At last I ate this! A wrap thingy- I do not even know what it is called.

We left at about 11 pm.

Thursday:
Too sleepy, cannot open eyes, eyes to dry. What was more annoying was that, we had no electricity from 6.05 am to the time I left for work! Imagine getting ready in the dark!! So annoying. Apparently the first 6 floors were all out and for people like me who are in a hurry to go to work while its still dark and heat and trying to NOT look like a zombie, it was difficult.

I finally left for work in glasses, and I most certainly hope the powder on my face is even.

Mama was so nice to cook for me fried bee hoon for lunch. Fruits was the same everyday this week since I did not get to go marketing myself last weekend.

Daniel was absent today, he must be sick. He was telling me he cannot breathe properly and I told him not to run and go see the doctor if he is unwell. The night before, I received a very touching sms from his mum. I did not even know how to respond to it but here is a child whom I have taught for almost 3 years whom I have seen grow, and improve. Its also so touching to know that he communicates to his mum about his interactions with me and truly, this is one aspect of the job that is most rewarding. I almost teared when I heard of the recent unpleasant happenings regarding this child but its not easy to remain emotionless, when I know I not only teach, I teach with my heart.

I learnt that I should never underestimate the power and impact that I have on a child. Something as simple as responding to them has a huge effect on them.

Friday:
Its SP's PSG session so its my turn to be the paparazzi. She talked about some really 'chim' topic and I found myself trying to figure out what she is talking about most of the time. Haha. Ate some sinful food in the morning mainly carrot cake and curry puff. And coffee, since there was so much balanace! Argh! I stayed away from the muffin though. Phew.

The tuna sandwich with lettuce was for breakfast. At lunch, Maya offered her 'sambal udang' (my favourite!). It looks and smelled good. Fried quotiao was good too, my mom is a good cook which is the main reason why I look like this.

While having lesson with my P3s, I decided to share the pictures of the recent PSG sessions. They were so excited to see their parents on the slides and at one of the slides, one of them cutely exclaimed:

"That's my mom! She is very clever one you know!"

That was said in the most joyful manner! I was so amazed simply because its common to see parents being proud of the children but to see children being proud of their parents, that is phenomenal.

Went home, rested for a while before leaving for PASE. So many things to share but Ender said this which I thought was so powerful.

I refuse to be just surviving. Surviving the economy, surviving with having just enough money etc. I choose to be an impact player.

For sure, Ender is already an impact player to me and I got a chance to tell Lisa that. For sure, I shall mention the 2 of them who influenced me in so many ways even though we are not in the same LOS.

Stories from the heart somehow always make me cry. Ender actually made us all write down 10 things that we are grateful for and I was not even struggling with it! I shall share it here next time when the entry is not too long.

If you were not there at PASE, these happened:

- Someone announced that they are getting engaged.
- New Eagle structure annouced and WOW!!
- New Double Eagle structure announced and super WOW!
- 3 people committed to going Eagle in the next 90 days. (they are very young!)

I had the most wonderful coversations with the 3 youngs guys, Nasri, Ryan and Ian. This Ryan always make the team laugh and I told him that I will be loudest girl to cheer for him when he go Eagle. I still vividly remember him calling my name so loudly at FED when I went Eagle so yeah, what you give you get back!

It has been a great week and next week will be even greater than this week!

Make an impact - today.
