Defination of True Beauty / Wednesday, March 15, 2006 @ 3:40 PM
Recently th ![]() . Anyway, the show is about Erlin's search for beauty. Physical beauty. It is inevitable for every lady to want to look beautiful right. At this same time, she falls for this guy name Husni, (who was played by this very good looking actor) for smokes a lot. Basically, they like everything about each other except the fact the Husni do not like Erlin to be fat and Erlin do not like Husni to smoke. I am sure by now you already figure out that this show main and ultimate aim is to promote healthy living. Besides the funny ways that Erlin tries to look beautiful, her 2 sisters presence in the show makes the shows more colourful than it already is. Her eldest sister, who is also fat is a divorcee but that does not stop her from being herself and enjoying her life. Her second sister is the only one among the three who is not fat but thinks she is. She have this fear of getting married for fear that she might become fat too. You can read the review via this link: http://www.suria.sg/whats_showing/emontel/gen_synopsis.html Its not that often that I watched Malay dramas. This is the first one in a long time. Most malay dramas are about the same old boring things like friction between mother in law and daughter in law, uninspiring love story, exagerated gangsters etc. There is no uniqueness anymore. I kinda like the concept of this show, it showcase the life of a fat girl and yes not all fat girls are miserable. Maybe the main reason, I am so attracted to the show is that it creates awareness in people not to look down on fat people. They are people too, and they have feelings. Although I agree that we must look good to create a good impression, it is unfair to based the everything on just looks. Some of the most gorgeous ladies I know are plump and fat but so what? So what if the dont have a n hour glass figure. So what if they dont have flawless skin. So what if they dont have long gorgeous hair. They have great personalities and they are beautiful in my eyes. Guys who just cant see their true beauty are just blind. Although, I think its sweet that a guy can like a lady not for her looks but for her personality, I find myself cynical about it. This Husni character is a prince charming. He is good looking, he is smart, he doesnt care about looks in his girlfriend. I dont know about you but I dont think such a perfect man exists! Haha. Throughout the show, I keep saying that his character doesnt exists in real life much to the dismay of my mum. Maybe they do exist but I have not met anyone close to this for the past 25 years of my life. Maybe me not believing they exist is the reason why my vision is clouded from these endangered species. I try not to be judgemental most of the time but I still find it hard to believe that the perfect man is somewhere out there waiting to be discovered. Somebody please prove me wrong. |
