Recently I took some time to surf around Createblog.com to find out what is it that keeps the com
munity running so great there. Apparently there are forums for almost every topic! Some of the xanga help topic were so useful to me in my constant effort to make this site better each time. It was then I bumped into a writing competition that they had going on. It feels like the competition is calling me to join in as I have always enjoyed writing and I would like to see how I would fare if I was competiting against other writers. Thats how you know how good or bad you are. The prizes are pretty great too and it comes along with an award banner. It didnt take me a long to decide to join in the fun.
There are 2 categories to the competition. At first I wanted to join only the first one but then I thought since I write poetry, I might as well join the 2nd category as well. Below are the 2 categories:
1st category:
To write a short story about 2-5 paragraphs long. The story can be about anything but must include these 3 words: moon, genuine, scissors. I know its pretty random but then again that is the challenge.
2nd category:
The second contest must be about the theme, "Beauty".A poem written about beauty in the "English (Shakespearen) Sonnet" form.
I just submitted my entries today and I am so excited to put it here at this site! However, that it going to have to wait until the competition is over as I do not want anyone to copy my entry and then claim it as their own. So that is going to have to wait. Since I did the writing at work, I managed to steal some of Kak Nor's time to let her read my entry before submitting it in. Her reaction for the 1st category: She burst out laughing!
