You can call me Noi! This blog consists of my thoughts. I am just a simple person with BIG dreams! Like the charcoal, hot pressure and extreme heat must be present in order to create a Diamond. I am in the exact same process.

Your Life is 35% Off Track

In general, your life is going very well.
You're quite happy with where you are and what you're doing.
And even if you get a bit off course, you're usually able to get back on track easily.

35% off track? Come on, whose life is 100% on track anyway?

Anyway today is third day of extreme boredom and that is the reason why I am typing away to you in this huge staffroom where I am alone. Ok, not really alone, there is one teacher at the other end of the room.

Yesterday the VP to me because he wanted to ask about this course that DAS is organising. Its not really a cheap course and a new teacher had applied to go for the course. As you know, mission schools are not that rich so they really think about fees and budget and all that because money is seriously lacking. He was asking if I had gone through the topics of the course and I said yes since it was about dyslexia. He then moved on to asking me if I would be comfortable to train some teachers like this new teacher about dyslexia and some strategies. As I was trying really hard to listen properly to make sure I completely understand what he is saying, I noticed that he was serious. Train teachers? That is huge because I am no trainer. Plus I am still learning and I am still new. Do not get me wrong, it is not that I am offended or shocked by the additional workload, but the very fact that he has the confidence to let me train some of the teachers was really suprising. Frankly, I am even honoured because this is a huge responsibility. I have 2 choices.

1. Get through this in a slacking manner since it is additional work that I have to do.
2. Put in 100% effort because the boys in general will benefit from the extra understanding that the teachers will have once I am done.

I am more keen on (2). This decision must have been made after my short sharing will all the teachers last week. I have nothing much to do anyway these 2 weeks so I shall be looking into this. Since I had the opportunity to speak with him, of course I had to ask him about the issue of the SNO room. After giving some feedback, I think it was really considerate to ask me how I want the noise level and space to be. I think both my VP and P are cool people so I am always thankful for that.

I am truly inspired by this book, Follow Your Heart (Andrew Matthews) that Naf lend me. I cannot put the book down. In fact I have made it a habit to read in the morning once I arrived at my desk. Reading in the morning time before you start your day is the best. You get to input some positivity into your mind instead of negativity (newspapers). Chapter 4 mentioned about how when we get too attached to things, people, money, we will get screwed up! In a nutshell, nature seeks balance and you cannot be desperate and balanced at the same time.

Your mission in life is not to be without problems, your mission is to get excited.

I think that there are too many people nowadays who are not excited enough about their life. They can be young but somehow they have lost that spark and interest in life itself. The world do not owe anyone anything so treat it better. Plus, it was here first.

Doing what you love is not a recipe for an easier life, it is a recipe for an interesting life.

I have done something productive today. I converted 2 old calendars into a words to read flipchart. Its really cool and I am so proud of myself. It only took me 6 hours to do it. It is definitely not something I would do if I am busy:p

Until my next thoughts, see ya!

Today I am going to be more effective and caring than I did yesterday.
