5 more minutes.........

Work

Yay! I am finally able to get in here and type all the unexpressed emotions from the weekend! Yesterday, I was zombified at work, I wonder why it didnt occur to me to take leave on Monday especially after a major function.

I was super excited this major function mainly because of Apple! She was amazing the last time we saw her in KL and this time she was going to be here, in Singapore! The ladies were all very excited!

I was coming down with some health challenges on Friday and I was praying really hard not to be sick during Summer Conference. I was not 100% healthy and my throat was hurting but the excitement overcame all that! Of course I pop in as many pills as I can before that just to make sure I had the energy for the weekend. So people who were sitting next to me, please increase your dosage of supplement so that you wont catch my germs.

My plan was to be early at 12pm but there were some confusion with the buses and bus stop and we ended being there at 12.55pm. Fortunately, there were not too many people yet and we were still the first 50 people there. Guess what, our team were the first in line! Front row mentality! Gek San was there at 8.30 am! I gave her a hug just for that! Haha.

While lining up, we saw Apple walking in! She was so cute and the rest of us were like star strucked, just like seeing a superstar! She also walked passed me and I was able to shake her hands! Yay! Apart from saying "hello", I did not say anything else and the language barrier between us was not a problem at all. Excitement speaks in all languages.

I was also saved by Fidah, who, thank GOODNESS, brought her mp3 player for fm radio translation! I was so shocked to find that my brother's mp3 player was low batt! I did not even check it! Imagine Apple talking and no translation? A disaster for me! Anyway, thank you 1000x, if not for you, I would not have benefited from the teachings.

Let me share what Apple said that impacted me so much. She was sharing about her childhood and how she hated waking up in the morning. And everytime the alarm rings, she would give a pitiful face to her father and said, "Just 5 more minutes". And this continued, into working and adult life and she realised that she has been saying "just 5 more minutes " to herself for the past 18 years!

Strangely, the last 5 minutes before you wake up is truly the best time to sleep!

And all it takes for you to do this business big, is to have just a little hatred for your life right now. A little hatred, can be like a negative reinforcement. Some people works best with negative reinforcement, mainly adults. She talks about change, its the same thing, we all know we have to change what we do if we want to change what we get.

It amazes me that how I can related with her so much despite the China market being so different from Singapore market. The greater the adversity, the bigger the win will be.

Of course Ganesh and Neeha was just as awesome. Something that impacted me was how he said to learn how to control the environment. This was so true in some sense. I had been experiencing people giving me the most ridiculous situations and it baffles me why they cannot simply take control of their environment. If you want it, it can happen. I realise that it is the time to be extra focus now, all the more I need to control my environment so that I am set for steady growth.

The EDC from Thailand was also amazing. It does not even matter that they were struggling to speak in English, I thought they delivered their message excellently!

The last part of the day was given to Apple (yay!) who spoke about the 5 love langauges. She is such a great storyteller. She brought her stories to life so much that it was easy to understand and relate to her story. After the impactful session on the love languages, I am sure everyone started to think about their own love language.

Only Nurul was able to guessed mine accurately! Congrats!

It was truly a life changing event, and I am only talking about the first day! I am so blessed to be there. I am so, so blessed to be shown this opportunity. I am even more blessed to be in the association with these respected people I call team. I thank God that I was given the clarity of vision that allowed me to see through the overalls dressed as work.

I am sure all of you who were there understand what I mean;)

I shall continue about the second day in my next entry! For now, I have to go turn off my nose tap and cough my guts out!

In the meantime, keep the excitement going!
