I am very excited about dream houses. In my early years doing business, I always knew that no matter what house I will get in the future, it MUST have a library. A MUST. Apart from the fact that I am self proclaimed bookworm, I think the other reason why every house should dedicate a room for the library is because children are losing interest in books. There are so many games, more interactive ones that can be found online, and books just does not seem so interesting anymore.
While I agree that the digital changes are catching up, books remain essential for me. There is no substitution for reading, just like when you want knowledge, you have to start reading somewhere. There are no short cuts. Also, that room can store my mountain of books that I currently have now ;p
I am optimistic about people and I shall remain that way. I was recently shocked when one of my clients signed up with someone else, through no fault of hers. The person she signed up with was probably eager to get business running and probably forgot about business ethics. I thought I felt a pain in my heart when I heard it but after I recover from the shock, I realised that I was my fault to begin with for being too slow. It was extra heartache not because she was a big client, but because she was a good and close friend of mine. Oh well, everything happens for a GOOD reason, so I shall not harp on it.
I promised the second day of Summer Conference update. Hmm, if you think that the first day was a blast, I thought the 2nd day 3 times more exciting. A lot of things impacted me in different ways. Neeha said 'Clarity is the key in accomplishing anything great'. This was once again mentioned by Apple when she did the poker cards. It was genius! While searching for the aces, there are bound to be people who will say all kinds of negative things about what you are doing. However if you have the clarity, you know that you just need to flip the card one more time, in order to find the 4 aces that you are looking for. This was so impactful to me and I realise that I have been flipping the cards to slow!Plus, doing the demo in stage was someone from our own team and another platinum same age as me! Man!
Then there was Vincent and Reena Yong with their daughter. I once sat next to Vincent during one of the BBS in Singapore and I saw how he handled his guest. It was normal! Same like what I would do. He said this which brought me a little tear in my eyes:
There are so many bad things happening in the world now, yet every month, every year, we celebrate freedom here.
Very true and how amazing is that?
It is so awesome to be there and it was really a life changing event. After the function ended, Eddie recorded some of our voices to be sent to Kankan and Samina and we know that it will be sent worldwide for sure. First summer conference in Singapore was phenomenal and I know that this is only the beginning.
I was not able to sleep that night thanks to the excitement! Have an even more exciting week ahead!
